Some of your early quests that require turning in food can be completed in 1-2 trips through Goshan. The first map added to Escape From Tarkov, Factory is perfect for close-quarters combat. Goshan has the most amount of food spawns in the game. Useful for quests and upgrading the medstation. In the center of the mall there are a ton of medical spawns, especially once you get some keys. Upgrading the workbench/stash is huge for beginners and not needing to wait for flea to do so is really nice. There is a plethora of toolboxes/electronics/computers to loot inside the mall for various items needed for the hideout. I know it's hated by a large part of the community but I think it's loot spawns are very useful for new players, especially before you unlock flea. You should absolutely go to these maps if you need them for quests too. And these maps are all fine in general, it's just that as a new and low-level player, you'll stand to gain more by going Customs. you'll have less urgent quests on Lighthouse initially and you'll also get snipedĪnd labs is obviously a no-go. Seriously, I've picked up way too many <20 tags there. you'll learn Factory pretty fast and the grind isn't worth for new players(both in terms of gear and skill). You literally have to fight your way to your extracts. You won't make it out on Reserve if you don't have any ammo that can reliably penetrate atleast class 4 armor.

Other people already mentioned plenty of good reasons to learn customs, but here's a reason to NOT run the other maps: you will gain less by running other maps. I'd say stick to customs until quests start leading you elsewhere. You want to learn as much as possible now as going off historical wipes we should be due one in the next few weeks I would imagine and you wan to try and hit the ground running when this happens.Īlternatively, Woods is a good one to also learn as it again has a couple starter quests on here and due to the size / foliage of the map it is quite easy to avoid / escape engagements.Įxcept for a 50/50 dice roll on factory, every map is gonna have geared dudes, that's just how it is. My advice would be to continue with customs, there will be very geared players, but if you concentrate on your tasks to learn them and avoid hotspots like Dorms / Stronghold you can increase your survivability. Most people will be running high end gear which will make it that much harder for you to compete against them. Sadly there aren't any beginner friendly maps, especially at this point in the wipe.
